A Simple Walk Into Mordor  is a Rooster Teeth Productions mini-documentary starring Kerry Shawcross and Chris Demarais on their journey from the filming location of Hobbiton from the Lord of the Rings to where Mordor should be, all in New Zealand.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Chris and Kerry open the series by describing their great love, or obsession, with Lord of the Rings. This obsession led them to watch the movies and read the books countless times. However, sometime after doing so, they realized that the books and films have taken the "long way" to get to Mordor. The actual distance from Hobbiton to Mordor should have actually been 120 miles, or 200 kilometers.

Therefore, Chris and Kerry, along with travel guide Nick Newton, gear up in survival, cameras, and Hobbit gear to walk from the filming location of Hobbiton to the location where Mt. Doom is, taking the supposedly shorter route to the location.
