The Helm of Dawnestes (S05-20)

Having defeated one of Dawneste' Heir's, the group moves to help the other members of Parliament of Steel

Summary

Having defeated the member of Dawneste' Heir's who had been summoning the crystal spiders the group ask Sekhar what's going on. He explains that Dawneste' Heir's want the Helm of Dawnestes which can teleport people around. The Parliament of Steel and the Dawneste' Heir's have a dispute over the ownership of the Helm and related artifacts.

The white dragon Oretaskos once controlled this atoll and had tried to take it back several times before, and is thought to be a third party in this current conflict.

The party moves up the mountain and finds the Bard Amerie another member of the Parliament of Steel she is under fire from a a group of Dawneste' Heir's shooting at her from the high ground. After giving Sekhar a quick run down of what's going everyone decides to charge of the mountain, this starts a skills challenge.

After the Skills challenge Amerie suggests they go up the mountain to go help Gibken who is holding the chamber by himself.

As the party goes up the mountain they see a group of Dawneste' Heir's taking shots at Gibken. As they approach Gibken throws up his arms screaming breathing fire and turns into a screaming tornado of rage.

With few options the group launches into another battle.

The purpose of this skills challenge is to get past and defeat the members of Dawneste' Heir's guarding the pass. Amerie allows the party skip one failure. DC is 30

Ket H'zard	Insight	2nd Failure	Ket having studied the battlefield knows where the blasts are going to fall however he missed the hole in the path. Lucky for him Amerie saves him.
Sekhar	Nature	4th Success	Sekhar uses his primal powers to Earth Stride Little Spark to safer place.
Randus	Arcana	5th Success	Randus uses his flash bang explosives help distract the goons. However his rocket goes off early and lunches his past the goons.
Orem	Stealth	6th Success	Orem uses Chameleon Mask to blend into the background and ends up by Randus
Little Sparkle	Bluff	7th Success	Little Sparkle uses her Kenku Ventriloquist to create distracting however she gets caught up in it and Ket has to do a Empathic Read to get Little Sparkle to focus.
Ket H'zard	Diplomacy	8th Success	Ket orders Randus, Sekhar and Orem to start taking out goons while he, Amerie, and Little Sparkle work their way up the battlefield. Ket uses both Star Ruby Ring, and Beguiling Tongue to increase his influence

It was noted by Sekhar that Oretaskos Atoll (the name of the island) was used as their base during the Lunar Crisis.
