Pod Save the World is a podcast under the umbrella of the Crooked Media company[1]. Pod Save the World is hosted by former National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor[2]. Vietor is joined by a guest, often a current or former civil servant, aid worker, or reporter. While other Crooked Media podcasts tend to focus heavily on domestic issues within the United States, Pod Save the World discusses global issues and international relations, with a heavy focus on civic involvement[3].
Vietor describes the podcast as "a no bullshit"[4] approach to global news that tries to make complicated issues seem relatable and simple to understand. Notable guests include former National Security Advisor Susan Rice, former White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, and US Senator and Vice Presidential Candidate Tim Kaine[5] Pod Save the World debuted as number one on the iTunes podcast chart on January 10th 2017.[6]
