Thank you![edit source]

Thank you so much for having me, and for your formatting help! I'm starting to get the hang of things.

Wanted to give a heads up about my thought here Category_talk:Podcast_Episode (I don't think we can notify each other from talk pages that aren't for user pages like wikipedia's "reply to" template?)

Also, RE: Template:Infobox_podcast_episode, if I include the guests attribute, the website attribute gets hidden in the displayed page, and the sponsors section will appear under the guest list. Bipsterite (talk) 22:33, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

If there is a template from Wikipedia that you think we need that we don't have, simply go to Special:Export on Wikipedia, enter the names of any templates you want, and then go to Special:Import on this wiki and import the file from Wikipedia with the pages you want on it. Also, Podpedia has a messaging extension installed where you simply go to another user's profile and click "Send a message" and then you can send a public or private message to another user and they will get a notification whenever they receive a message. For Template:Infobox_podcast_episode, I most likely simply need to change the order the website and sponsors appear in the list, since I simply added those onto the template after I renamed the television episode template I imported from Wikipedia. Also, I decided to get the domain name podpedia.org since podpedia.miraheze.org is a bit long and Miraheze might be confusing to spell for people who have never heard the word before. If there are any other issues or things you need help with, let me know! CoolieCoolster (talk) 23:16, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
Almost! The website link is showing up now, but the actual list of guests has disappeared: Harmontown No. 1: Achieve Weightlessness Also, RE: the discussion on Category_talk:Podcast_Episode, any issue with me adding a super-category to the *Episode categories you've been using for the episodes of other podcasts? Bipsterite (talk) 00:06, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
You can add the Category:Podcast_Episode category to podcast episodes. To edit articles in mass, use Special:MassEditRegex. Also, in order to simply wikilink to a category instead of adding the talk page to that category, use : before category in the wikilink. I'm not sure what is exactly the problem with Template:Infobox_podcast_episode, however I will continue working on it until it works. CoolieCoolster (talk) 00:19, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
I fixed the issue of the guests not appearing in the podcast episode infobox by merging the guests section with the main information section of the infobox. CoolieCoolster (talk) 01:29, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
I have added the episode categories for three of the other podcasts to Category:Podcast_Episode. Cortex and The Pen Addict don't have their episode articles categorized yet like the other podcasts do. CoolieCoolster (talk) 14:49, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
Cortex episodes are now categorized and have been added to Category:Podcast_Episode. CoolieCoolster (talk) 14:51, 6 January 2018 (UTC)

System administrator has communicated their intent to remove certain cross-wiki redirects[edit source]

Last month, a system administrator named Reception123 left a message on my talk page informing me of their intent to remove certain cross-wiki redirects to Podpedia. While I personally have no objections to this, I thought it would be best to let you know as well. Hapsbro (talk) 05:01, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

Articles[edit source]

Hey Coolster! You could help me out by putting together an outline on which pages I can create. I couldn't find an article to do and expand it (3284 articles) and our goal is to reach 3300, but I can't find an article to create/start, because my podcast style is different YellowFrogger (talk) 16:38, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

In terms of formatting that I would recommend, Timpedia for Hello Internet was always the core of the effort put into the wiki, with much of the rest being imported from Wikipedia in the hopes that there would eventually be enough interest in it to expand on that content. In regards to the content of that section of Podpedia specifically, each episode of a podcast was intended to make use of an infobox with standardized information, with a standardized layout of several sections, such as a summary, links to subjects discussed in an episode, and an episode transcript. Other pages would document the most recent episodes, a list of episodes in general, and articles for specific subjects repeatedly discussed over the course of a podcast's run. In retrospect, much of Podpedia's content should really be deleted and improved upon with a better layout and ideas from someone who listens to a wide variety of podcasts (I generally only listened to two myself). As I only had experience in article copyediting when I created Podpedia, I borrowed quite a few templates from other wikis, which could perhaps be improved upon to better suit the needs of this wiki. While I wouldn't say my own abilities with templates have improved much since then, if you have ideas on how you think the wiki as a whole should be structured, I'd be glad to put what I've learned in improving my new wiki to use here. In my opinion, the goal of the wiki should be to focus on not just documenting podcast episodes, but writing articles for podcasts and notable subjects discussed within and about them that would otherwise not qualify for Wikipedia's notability requirements; rather than trying to compete with Wikipedia on general subjects to which it already has articles, creating articles of a similar caliber to emphasize quality over the sheer number of articles that the wiki has. Sorry for the inactivity. I'm doing other things and little time YellowFrogger (talk) 17:01, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
No worries! There's so much I'd like to add to my other wikis yet so little time to do so; on the bright side, editing articles periodically rather than all at once also helps to avoid burnout. If you ever have any questions, feel free to notify me again as needed. CoolieCoolster (talk) 20:21, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
