FAQWhat is Podpedia? Podpedia is a podcast database and a network of podcast wikis. What is a podcast? A podcast, or generically netcast, is an episodic series of digital audio or video files which a user can download and listen to. It is often available for subscription, so that new episodes are automatically downloaded via web syndication to the user's own local computer, mobile application, or portable media player. It is distinct from Internet radio, which involves streaming rather than downloading. How can I create a new podcast wiki on Podpedia? There are three steps you must complete before the foundation of your new podcast wiki is done. First, create an article about the podcast you are creating a wiki for. Next, create articles for all the episodes of that podcast. The articles for the episodes of that podcast do not need to be complete immediately; simply include basic information like the date the episode was released and the number of the episode in the series of episodes of that podcast to start. Lastly, create a portal for your podcast. This will be the main page of your wiki. In order to create the portal, create a page called Portal:Example, replacing Example with the name of the podcast your wiki is about. See Portal:HelloInternet for an example of the standard format for a podcast portal. How can I help improve Podpedia? Go to the Editorial Center. A to-do list for Podpedia is located at Podpedia:To Do List. A list of requested articles is located at Podpedia:Requested articles. How is Podpedia funded? Podpedia is hosted by the wiki farm Miraheze, which is funded through donations instead of advertisements.
