But in a video-- I don't know which, I think one of Geometry Wars from years ago-- Geoff says something along the lines of "if, and I'm assuming when, you have a stroke again, please don't have it in my house, have it at work" to which Gavin replies "thank you for making light of a very serious worry I have in my life".

This suggests that he literally had a stroke but then again, it could always be a weird, crossing the line, barrier-type joke. I don't know. Just noticed it, and found this thread.
